More than twenty years of bringing gymnastics to schools
Before Sunshine Flip n' Roll, there was Tumble Time. Same model, same philosophy, multiple locations.
In December 2007, Tumble Time participated in a county-wide initiative promoting wellness through physical activity in elementary schools. We set up free tumbling classes at West Clay Elementary School during their "Move It" all-school wellness event, where roughly 400 students, parents and staff rotated through exercise stations.
The Indianapolis Star covered it:
"With that many kids being involved and having such a great response, we're really excited." ā Cindy Reissaus, school secretary and Wellness Committee member
That event captured exactly why this business works. Kids who'd never tried gymnastics went home over an adult's head for the first time. Parents watched instead of sitting in a parking lot. And the school got a wellness day that families actually remembered.
What began in Florida
When we rebuilt the program here as Sunshine Flip n' Roll, we kept everything that made Tumble Time work:
We come to you. Schools, daycares and co-ops don't need to transport anyone.
Free exposure events before contracts. Let the kids show you whether it works.
Beginner-friendly by design. The child who has never done a cartwheel is our primary customer, not our exception.
What changed: two decades of coaching experience, tighter skill progressions, better equipment, and a deeper understanding of how to fit inside a school or childcare schedule without creating extra work for staff.
Still the same idea
Mobile gymnastics isn't a new concept we invented last month. It's a model that filled a gymnasium full of kids in Indianapolis twenty years ago, and it fills spaces across Volusia County today.
